This is one of my favorite baby animals in the world. It is a baby orangutan. I love them so much. I saw one in real life once in San Diego at a zoo and it was amazing! I also like Bonobo Monkeys- they are hilarious!Anyhow, orangutan babies, their moms, and dads are found on the islands of Sumatra and Borneo. They are the largest tree dwelling mammal in the world and make nests high up in trees.
Baby orangutans have the longest childhood dependence on their moms- they drink their moms milk until they are 6 years old!
I am sad because orangutans are losing their habitat. They are supposed to be extinct in the wild in 10 years.
Maybe we can do something to help them though. What do you think we should do?
